Florida’s 2017 ENERGY STAR Award Winners Announced

Each year, EPA honors a group of businesses and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to protecting the environment through superior energy efficiency achievements. 

The Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC), the leading certifier of green projects in the state, salutes Florida’s seven winners.

Parmenter, Miami, Fla., is a real estate investment, management, and development firm that manages more than $1 billion dollars in assets. Parmenter is receiving ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year— Sustained Excellence recognition for its commitment to continuous improvement of energy efficiency by renovating underperforming properties and repositioning those properties for acquisition.

Jacksonville Building Science, St. Johns, Fla., is a privately-owned company with expertise and certifications in the fields of energy rating and building science. Jacksonville Building Science is receiving ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year— Sustained Excellence recognition for its support of ENERGY STAR certified homes.

SkyeTec Energy Rating Services, Jacksonville, Fla., is an energy rating and indoor environmental consulting company that provides third-party inspections for residential and commercial construction projects. Since 2008, SkyeTec has provided energy rating and ENERGY STAR® certification services. SkyeTec is receiving ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year—Sustained Excellence recognition for its support of the ENERGY STAR Certified Homes program.

Welbilt, Inc. (formerly Manitowoc Foodservice), New Port Richey, Fla., is a world leader in commercial foodservice kitchen equipment solutions with a portfolio of brands. Welbilt is receiving ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year—Sustained Excellence recognition for its continued effort to drive innovation in many product categories, while supporting the ENERGY STAR specification development, and developing creative marketing and education platforms to ensure employees and end users understand the benefits of ENERGY STAR certified products

TopBuild Home Services is receiving ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year—Sustained Excellence recognition for its contribution to rating ENERGY STAR certified homes.

The 2017 ENERGY STAR Award winners lead their industries in the production and sale of energy-efficient products and services, and in the development and adoption of strategies that provide substantial energy and money savings in the buildings where we live and work. SJHP Multifamily Development For At-Risk Veterans Earns Florida Water Star Certification

AUGUSTINE, Fla. – A water efficiency certification program developed by the St. Johns River Water Management District is helping to serve at-risk Veterans while conserving water in St. Johns County. Started nearly two decades ago, the Florida Water StarSM program offers an accessible and affordable path for builders and developers to follow so their projects use less water in landscapes, irrigation systems and indoors. Combined, these measures help achieve the water efficiency performance needed in new homes and businesses.
