FHC Annual Conference Begins Today in Orlando

The event is expected to attract more than 600 affordable housing advocates, lenders, developers, administrators and policy makers.  The Annual Conference offers training from the nuts and bolts of housing to cutting edge training and an opportunity to learn from a broad range of experts. ICSC NEWS: Report documents Kimco’s sustainability achievements

Kimco Realty Corp., North America’s largest publicly traded operator of open-air centers, reduced energy consumption across its more than 750 centers by 8.5 percent in 2014, compared to the year before, according to its second annual Corporate Responsibility Report, which was released today. The New Hyde Park, N.Y.–based company also reduced water consumption by about 7.5 percent, saving some 67.3 million gallons of water. These are just two highlights of the report, which covers a range of issues, including sustainability, corporate transparency, charitable giving and community volunteering. Kimco employees spent 389 hours volunteering in 2014 through the company’s Community Connection program, which in the past has assisted with disaster relief, home building and youth mentoring, among other activities.
